6 Ways To Identify High-quality Tea

We all know that we must choose tea with good quality so that we can make tasty tea. Therefore, we must have the ability to identify good tea. Here we introduce six ways to discern tea:

1. Appearance:

The tea collected in the season is called new tea. You can hold the tea lightly with your hands, and you must feel a slight thorn. Grab 1-2 tea leaves and gently knead with your thumb and forefinger. If you can grind it into a powder, that shows the degree of drying is good; If it is not easy to break, then tea has become soft or dry. Its quality has been affected.

2. Color:

All kinds of tea have their standard color. It is best that the shape and color of the tea is identical, and broken leaves are mostly substandard products; Tea stems and high proportion of impurities will affect the quality of tea soup.

3. Smell dry tea:

This is one of the main conditions that determine the quality of tea. Various types of tea have different aromas due to different methods and degrees of fermentation. For example, green tea is used for its fragrance, tea plants with flowers, black tea with caramel and oolong tea with unique aromas. Aroma is best for freshness and livelihood; If it is burnt, odoriferous, boring or smelly, it is likely to be inferior.

4. Color of tea soup:

The color of tea soup is different due to the production and fermentation process. For example, green tea shows honey green, Oriental Beauty Oolong shows amber, and Baozhong Oolong Tea shows honey yellow. In addition to the water color, the better tea soup is bright, clean, clarified, and the tea leaves contain no foreign substances. Turbid or precipitated tea residue is not good.

5. Tea flavor:

Good tea must taste fresh, sweet and lubricated, giving the mouth an ample scent or throat rhyme. If bitter, astringent, and heavy smell, it may not be the good one.

6. Leaf bottom:

Look at the leaf bottom is to watch the tea dregs after making tea. The bottom of the good tea should be neat, stretch completely, flesh and elasticity. If it is broken, it may be harvested more casually or be rubbed for too long. If the stretch is not complete, it may be over tender or badly produced. Viewing the leaf bottom is a more professional knowledge. Tea expert can observe the leaf bottom to find out the tea's variety, picking method, and manufacturing process which includes weather, fermentation degree, fried cyanine, rubbing, and degree of dryness.

The above steps can provide basic methods for discriminating the quality of tea. These methods cannot be used by most people without long-term study and training. If it is a novice to buy tea, it is best to have  experts to lead. Besides, you can consult and buy from reputable tea shops. This is the best way to accumulate experience.
